A man who stopped at a Sonoma gas station to buy a drink and a Scratchers lottery ticket has won $10 million, according to the California Lottery.

Ronald Lopez won the prize after buying a $30 $10 Million Dazzler Scratchers ticket at Bonneau's 76 station on Arnold Drive.

Lopez sat in his car while scratching the ticket's 30 boxes and saw "10,000,000" under the 13th box, according to a California Lottery press release.

"I took a couple of glances. Didn't really believe it. I was in tears," Lopez told officials. He brought the winning ticket inside the gas station to make sure that it was real. The astonished clerk confirmed that he indeed was a winner.

What followed was a trip to the Lottery's Sacramento district office where he claimed his prize.

Lopez reportedly plans to retire.

The gas station wins too, receiving a $50,000 bonus for selling the ticket.
