Several vehicles crashed Wednesday morning on Highway 101 in Rohnert Park, spreading debris across lanes and damaged vehicles into the shoulder and center divider, according to the CHP.

The 8 a.m. crash happened in northbound lanes near the Wilfred Avenue and Golf Course Drive highway exit and involved 3-7 vehicles, according to initial CHP reports.

What caused the collisions wasn’t initially available and officers were sorting out what happened. Officials reported the roadway was clear for traffic at 8:11 a.m. with at least one vehicle needing to be towed.

The widespread collision backed up northbound traffic to the Rohnert Park Expressway, according to CHP reports.
