A cooling center will open at the Finley Community Center Saturday, providing residents a refuge from temperatures expected to reach as high as 100 degrees, Santa Rosa fire officials said.

The cooling center at 2060 West College Ave. will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Water and free Wi-Fi will be available, but there’s no TV. Only service animals are allowed.

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for much of the San Francisco Bay Area and a fire weather watch for the North Bay Mountains from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.

The city’s recreation and parks division also will open its public air-conditioned lobbies.

The Finley Recreation Complex lobby will be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturdays. The Steele Lane Community Center is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Person Senior Wing at Finley is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
