A 42-year-old Santa Rosa man was in custody Monday, suspected of robbing a San Francisco business at gunpoint, authorities said.

Jarrod Calvert, 42, held up a Vallejo Street business about 7:50 a.m. Wednesday, stealing cash from employees, a San Francisco police spokesman said Monday.

The official wouldn’t disclose the business name or type, saying it was against department policy, but he said it was open at the time the armed suspect walked inside. The Vallejo Street block is close to Van Ness Avenue and Broadway.

An investigation led to Calvert as a suspect, and San Francisco police issued an alert to regional law enforcement to watch for him.

Calvert was arrested early Saturday by Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies, who spotted him in Guerneville on Main Street about 12:45 a.m. Deputies handed him over to San Francisco law enforcement.
