San Francisco police protest disrupts traffic, shopping

SAN FRANCISCO — Protesters from San Francisco's lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community briefly shut down freeway ramps before peacefully moving march through the city's downtown.

The San Francisco Chronicle (http://bit.ly/1tdkQho ) reports that the demonstration Wednesday included about 200 people and was the latest action in the Bay Area following the police killings of unarmed black men in Missouri and New York.

The group met at Market Street and Octavia Boulevard, blocking the Highway 101 ramps temporarily before marching down Market to San Francisco's Castro District.

The group chose the day before Christmas for the march to get out two messages, including "It's no time for a celebration" and "Black Lives Matter."

No injuries or arrests were reported.
