SAN RAFAEL — New cases of measles in two unvaccinated Marin County children have been confirmed by the county's health department.

The Oakland Tribune reports (http://bayareane.ws/1uIZsvv ) that Marin County Public Health Officer Dr. Matthew Willis says the children, who are related, will remain isolated for the next three weeks.

Their names and ages were not released. The infection occurred outside the county.

Before the new cases were confirmed Thursday, the California Department of Public Health had reported 79 measles cases.

California has for weeks been gripped by a measles outbreak, with most of the cases traced directly or indirectly to Disneyland in Southern California.

Parents who think their child may have measles should call their doctor immediately rather than going to a clinic or hospital.

Northern California's Marin County has a high rate of people claiming personal belief exemptions for vaccines.
