Bay Area apartment fire displaces 21 people

LIVERMORE - Twenty one people were displaced after a triplex apartment building caught fire Sunday east of San Francisco.

No one was seriously injured.

KCBS reports (http://cbsloc.al/1XXjrFE ) Monday that fire crews responded to a report of a fire at an apartment building in Livermore at 3 a.m.

Fire officials say that upon arrival, firefighters saw flames coming from the front windows and a door of a second-floor unit.

Firefighters were able to quickly contain the fire to the unit.

Officials say a family of four escaped the fire from their second-floor apartment without injury.

The cause of the fire was not known Monday.

All 21 occupants displaced by the fire received help with relocation from the American Red Cross.

The fire remains under investigation.
