Livermore police shoot, kill armed man whose home burst into flames
LIVERMORE - Police shot and killed an armed San Francisco Bay Area man who authorities say made suicidal statements and fired his weapon several times while being barricaded inside his home as it burst into flames.
KTVU-TV reports (http://bit.ly/2i9VW2H) Livermore police Lt. John Hurd says the officer-involved shooting occurred just before 9 p.m. Wednesday in a mobile home park.
Police say the man challenged his neighbor to a fight. When officers arrived after a 911 call, the man retreated inside his home.
Authorities say after a fire started inside the man's home, the man came out holding a gun, prompting officers to shoot him.
