Ukiah police are seeking a man they say robbed a Wal-Mart clerk at gunpoint on Friday night.

After waiting in line for his turn at the customer service counter, the man displayed a firearm just before 8 p.m. Friday and demanded money, police said. He took an undisclosed amount of cash then fled in a car that was waiting near an Applebee’s restaurant nearby, police said.

The vehicle was described as a beige or tan 1990s model, four-door Nissan Sentra, police said. Witnesses said the driver had short hair and was in his mid-30s, as was the suspect. The robber was wearing sunglasses, a round-brimmed western-style hat, long-sleeved shirt, dark shoes and colored gloves.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Ukiah police at 463-6262.
