A Santa Rosa man who authorities said has a history of stealing cars, was arrested Wednesday driving a Mazda Miata a day after it was reported stolen.

Thomas Baker, 47, was arrested by the CHP driving north on Highway 101 near Arata Lane after a witness spotted the car and called 911 Wednesday afternoon.

According to the CHP, the owner of the Mazda posted a photo of the car on Facebook after it had been stolen from the San Miguel Road area on Tuesday.

The witness who reported seeing the Mazda on 101 was a Facebook friend of the car’s owner, the CHP said.

Baker was booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of possessing a stolen vehicle and related charges. He is being held on $10,000 bail.
