A Lake County couple remained in Sonoma County Jail on Tuesday morning, suspected in a string of home burglaries that led investigators to a cache of stolen guns, jewelry and an SUV.

Tabytha Jarvis, 27, was held on $500,000 bail for six suspected felony crimes involving burglary and auto theft, according to jail records. Ryan Messing, 33, of Clearlake, was held on $60,000 bail for fewer felonies, including suspicion of burglary and resisting arrest.

They were taken into custody late last week after a Forestville woman called deputies to report her home was being burglarized.

The woman arrived at her River Road home to find an unfamiliar woman in her driveway in an SUV, a broken window pane in her front door and someone rummaging in her garage, the Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The woman in the SUV drove off and a man inside the home ran from the property into a nearby vineyard. Deputies, aided by the sheriff’s helicopter crew, chased the man through the vineyard and arrested Messing after a struggle, officials said.

Detectives tracked Jarvis to a Santa Rosa home on North Street late Friday where they found a silver, newer-model Nissan Rogue in the driveway that had been stolen during a burglary at a home in Arbuckle, officials said.

A search of the stolen SUV, the house and a shed turned up evidence from three Sonoma County burglaries including eight guns, tools, jewelry and other items. Some of the items may have come from two Lake County burglaries, said officials.
