CHP: Road rage dispute in Petaluma leads to one arrest

A Fairfield man accused of brandishing a gun at another driver during a “road rage” conflict on Highway 121 outside Petaluma was arrested Wednesday morning, the CHP said.

Jason Jackson, 33, and the driver of another car engaged in dispute over the right-of-way as both were headed west toward Petaluma, officers said.

Jackson followed the other driver west along Highway 121 and progressively became more aggressive in his driving before displaying a semi-automatic pistol, the CHP said.

Petaluma police officers intercepted Jackson at the intersection of Sonoma Mountain Parkway and Rose Petal Court. He was arrested by the CHP and taken to the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of brandishing and carrying a concealed firearm in his car. He was not under the influence at the time, officers said.
