Anniversary: Fred and Linda Frost
Fred and Linda Frost celebrated their 50th anniversary on September 25, 2015. The met as juniors at the UC Davis on a double date, although they were with other people.
They decided they were attracted to each other rather than their prospective dates, so began their courtship the following fall when school resumed.
After two years (and a one year engagement period), they married on Sept. 25, 1965. They spent the first three years of their marriage on Okinawa, where Fred was a captain in the U.S. Army.
After a short time in the Midwest, the Frosts moved to Southern California for 25 years, and then finally made it to God’s country in Petaluma in 1997.
Fred was an animal nutritionist and managed Dairyman’s Cooperative in Petaluma for eight years. He still consults in his field. Linda has her doctorate and was in education for 40 years, and held positions in teaching, principal, director of education, and retired from San Rafael City Schools as Associate Superintendent. She still consults in her field.
The Frosts have one son, Jeff, and daughter in law, Rebekkah, and they have one granddaughter, Isabellah.
Fred belongs to Rotary, the Petaluma Yacht Club, and Elks, and Linda belongs to Petaluma Woman’s Club, the Yacht Club and Retired Teachers. She also is a docent for Sonoma County Wildlife Rescue.
Their advice for a happy marriage is to have a sense of humor, and kiss each other every time you say goodbye or go to sleep.
