Man hurt in Santa Rosa crosswalk ID’d

A pedestrian who was severely injured after being struck by a car while crossing Mendocino Avenue on Friday night has been identified as Michael Rose of Santa Rosa.

The 46-year-old man remains in critical condition at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where he is being treated for multiple fractures.

The collision occurred about 10:45 p.m. Rose was walking in a marked crosswalk at Silva Avenue near Santa Rosa Junior College when he was struck by a 2011 Toyota Venza driven by Edward Kelleher, 74, of Santa Rosa.

Alcohol, drugs and excessive speed are not suspected in the crash.
