CHP officers clamped down on reckless drivers along the Highway 101 corridor in Marin and Sonoma counties, making two DUI arrests and issuing 88 citations for various traffic violations Friday.

Officers targeted speeders, distracted drivers and people not wearing seatbelts while traveling on the highway from the Golden Gate Bridge north to the Sonoma-Mendocino county line, according to the CHP. The agency also worked with the Petaluma Police Department to crack down on dangerous driving along Lakeville Highway from Petaluma to State Route 37.

CHP said officers issued 61 citations for speeding, ticketed a driver for following another vehicle too closely and four others for not wearing seatbelts. It issued 22 citations for other violations.
