Guerneville chef wins Fieri's 'Grocery Games'

Owner of Boon Hotel and Spa, Big Bottom Market, el Barrio Bar beat out other chefs for $20,000 shopping spree.|

Guerneville restaurant owner Crista Luedtke won an episode of local celebrity chef Guy Fieri's "Grocery Games" cooking show that aired Sunday evening.

Luedtke, owner of Boon Hotel and Spa, Boon Eat + Drink, Big Bottom Market and El Barrio Bar, bested other chefs from different parts of the country to win a $20,000 shopping spree.

The competition, called Battle America!, is filmed in Santa Rosa, Fieri's hometown. It required participants to race through the aisles of a warehouse to retrieve their ingredients and then cook a dish for judges.

Luedtke's concoctions included flat iron steak with polenta and arugula salad and fish tacos with chorizo.

Luedtke held a viewing party at Boon and Big Bottom Market for friends and fans Sunday evening.

'She was just outrageous,' said family friend Judith William. 'She's very funny.'
