A portion of Hearn Avenue west of Highway 101 will be closed Saturday during a daylong railroad track construction project, Sonoma Marin Area Rail Transit officials said.

The Hearn Avenue railroad crossing will be closed to all vehicle traffic but have limited access for pedestrians from about 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Contractor Stacy and Witbeck/Herzog will be making repairs.

Motorists are encouraged to take alternative routes.

Electronic message boards alerting drivers to the upcoming construction closure have been placed at the crossing for both east- and west-bound traffic.
