The body of a 60-year-old man was found Saturday evening at Santa Rosa’s Howarth Park in the waters of Lake Ralphine, police said.

The man appears to be the victim of a drowning, as there were no obvious signs of trauma, Santa Rosa Police Sgt. Robert Reynolds said. His identity was withheld by police while they notified his family.

Reynolds said the body was found at about 6 p.m. by a passer-by who noticed something partially submerged in the water just north of the boat launch at Lake Ralphine.

“It doesn’t appear to be a homicide,” Reynolds said, adding that an investigation is being conducted by the Sonoma County Coroner’s Office.

No other information was available Saturday night.
