Two arrested in Rohnert Park after chase in stolen car

During the Saturday crash, the stolen car crashed into another vehicle on Rohnert Park Expressway, injuring two motorists, police said.|

Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies and Rohnert Park police chased down ?two men Saturday evening and arrested them at gunpoint on suspicion of stealing a Mazda sedan and crashing it on Rohnert Park Expressway, injuring?two women motorists.

Deputies pursued the silver 2016 sedan into Rohnert Park shortly before 6:30 p.m., Rohnert Park Sgt. Jacy Tatum said. Police officers joined the chase as the Mazda sped south on Commerce Boulevard and sideswiped a vehicle at the expressway intersection.

There the two men fled, but deputies arrested the driver at gunpoint at a nearby Jack in the Box, according to dispatch reports and Tatum, while police and deputies arrested the passenger near the Safeway store.

An ambulance transported one woman to the hospital, but her injuries weren’t life threatening.
