Modesto man arrested in string of Sonoma County burglaries, thanks to video
A Modesto man has been arrested in connection with a string of commercial burglaries around Sonoma County, a sheriff’s spokesman said Friday.
David Benjamin Hill, 43, was booked on felony charges after he was picked up Wednesday at a friend’s house on Dry Creek Road in Geyserville, Sgt. Spencer Crum said.
His arrest came after a two-week investigation into the break-ins. It was aided in part by the release of a video on Jan. 4 on social media showing the suspect attempting to enter a Windsor convenience store with a crow bar, Crum said.
A Volkswagen Jetta seen in the video was linked to Hill, Crum said.
Hill’s bail was increased to $250,000 after Santa Rosa police added burglary allegations Thursday.
Further details about his alleged victims was not immediately available.
