Highway 101 crash in downtown Santa Rosa slows early commute

A crash on Highway 101 at Highway 12 in downtown Santa Rosa caused one injury Wednesday morning and led to creeping traffic for many early commuters.

One person was taken to a hospital from the 6:50 a.m. collision just north of Highway 12, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash left one vehicle with rear end damage and blocked a Highway 12 merging lane. That slowed traffic coming from the east and west, headed for Highway 101, and the downtown interchange was a sea of red brake lights stretching out in multiple directions.

Adding to issues, a second crash occurred just north of the first collision, according to the CHP.
