Albert Basso, 56, was taken into custody about 7:50 p.m. Monday after Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies armed with a search warrant discovered approximately 60 grams of methamphetamine in Basso’s vehicle.

Deputies had pulled Basso over in the area of Commerce Boulevard and Rohnert Park Expressway.

Another warrant was used to search Basso’s apartment in the 800 block of Carlita Circle. Deputies found about 1.25 pounds of methamphetamine in numerous packages there, along with more than $3,600 in cash.

Authorities said Basso has been arrested and convicted for selling drugs numerous times dating back to 1979.

He was booked at the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of possessing and transporting methamphetamine for sale. He was released after posting a $40,000 bail bond.
