Santa Rosa police seize assault rifles, cocaine, cash

Four men have been arrested after police served a search warrant on a home near A Place to Play Park.|

Assault rifles, cocaine and cash were discovered by Santa Rosa police in a home near A Place to Play Park Wednesday afternoon.

The discovery of the high-powered AK-47-style rifles led to four arrests and came after officers served a search warrant in the 500 block of Woodchuck Court near W. Third Street and Fulton Road.

Also found in the home were several ounces of cocaine, several thousand dollars in cash and a bulletproof vest, Santa Rosa police said.

The four men arrested in connection with the seizure were spotted by police either leaving, fleeing or returning to the home.

Louwegie Wade Cortez, a 34-year-old Santa Rosa resident, was detained leaving the residence in a vehicle. He was booked into jail on suspicion of several felonies, including a felon in possession of a firearm, possession of an assault rifle, unlawful possession of ammunition, and possession of narcotics for sale.

Ryan Michael Perrine, 19, of Santa Rosa and David Nathan Nevarez, 37, of Clearlake were also booked on suspicion of possession of an assault rifle.

Donald Henry Gonzalez Jr., 34, of Sebastopol was also booked into jail on an outstanding misdemeanor arrest warrant.
