Near-naked man arrested at Santa Rosa High School

A partially-clothed man who painted his hands and genitals with blue paint was arrested Wednesday at Santa Rosa High School, but not before he had been seen by at least one student, police said.

Officers responding to reports of a naked man at the Mendocino Avenue high school found William David Miessner, 50, near the door to a basement area on the north side of the campus.

Police said the Santa Rosa man was wearing only a T-shirt and a small grocery bag around his genital area.

Miessner had spoken to one student but had not approached him. Staff members kept Miessner away from other student activities and classes until officers arrived. It’s unknown why Miessner was on campus.

He was booked at the Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of possessing methamphetamine, coming onto a school campus with intent to interfere or disrupt activities and providing false identification to police officers.
