A Cotati man remained in custody Wednesday in San Francisco, suspected of the attempted kidnapping of a woman, according to San Francisco police.

Darrin Bravo, 46, was arrested late Sunday afternoon in Petaluma in connection with the case after a brief pursuit by CHP officers, which ended in a crash on Lakeville Street.

Bravo was a suspect in an attempted kidnapping Saturday night of a 31-year-old woman in the Pacific Heights neighborhood. Sunday, officers went to Cotati and began following him, San Francisco police said in a news release. About 4:45 p.m., when Bravo headed onto Highway 101, officers contacted the CHP and asked for help in stopping him.

CHP officers were unsuccessful pulling Bravo over as he exited at Lakeville Street. In a brief chase reaching about 60 mph, Bravo rear-ended a Mercedes SUV stopped for a red light at the intersection of Lakeville and East D Street, according to authorities. Two people in the Mercedes reportedly had minor injuries and were taken to Kaiser Permanente San Rafael Medical Center.

Bravo was being held in lieu of $300,000 bail.
