An employee at Flyers gas station at College Avenue and Morgan Street was stabbed multiple times Thursday, after asking his alleged assailant to leave the premises for shooting up drugs in the restroom, said Santa Rosa police. His wounds were not life-threatening.

The alleged assailant entered the gas station and walked into the restroom a little before 10 a.m. After 10 minutes, the gas station attendant grew concerned, having had previous problems, according to police, who only gave a partial name for the victim.

The employee asked the assailant to leave, police said, and the employee found blood, a syringe and other drug paraphernalia in the restroom.

Shortly after, an altercation broke out between the employee and the alleged assailant, police said.

The man charged the employee, swung a knife at him, then ran down Morgan Street, police said. The employee was stabbed in the torso and sliced in the face until he returned to the gas station, they added.

The suspect has not been identified, and the investigation is ongoing.
