Sonoma County deputies Sunday declined to release any new details about the drowning Saturday of a woman near Cloverdale.

The woman and a man were swimming in Big Sulphur Creek - near the intersection of Pine Mountain and Geysers roads - in the afternoon when a strong current swept them away, according to previous reports. The man was able to grab onto a rock and get out of the water. He alerted authorities after losing sight of his companion.

The sheriff's helicopter retrieved her body about a half-mile downstream.

Deputies declined to release her name Sunday.
