Santa Rosa’s Bellevue Union School District has named David Alexander to replace outgoing superintendent Alicia Henderson.

Alexander served as superintendent for Cottonwood Union School District near Redding since 2014.

He has 27 years of experience in education, including work as an adjunct professor, and was selected from a pool of 24 applicants, according to a district news release. He is married and the father of two children.

More than 1,800 students attend the K-6 district, which serves a southern swath of Santa Rosa. Its schools include Bellevue, Kawana Springs, Meadow View and Taylor Mountain elementary schools, and Stony Point Academy.
