Body found on Judge Davis Trail in eastern Lake County

The deceased male has not been identified and officials say there were no obvious signs of foul play.|

Lake County Sheriff’s officials are investigating the discovery Friday morning of man’s body on Judge Davis Trail in eastern Lake County, near the Colusa County line.

After officials were alerted of the discovery at 11:30 a.m., deputies were able to locate the body of a deceased male in a remote area on the trail two miles from Highway 20, officials said.

Deputies recovered the body with the help of a CHP helicopter out of Sacramento.

Sheriff’s officials said there were no obvious signs of foul play. No information was available Saturday about the man’s age or identity. The cause of death and identification of the body will be conducted this week, officials said.
