Cal Fire crews Wednesday morning had a 22-acre grass and oak woodland fire burning near Lake Berryessa 80 percent contained, according to state fire officials.

The fire was expected to be fully contained by Wednesday evening, said Cal Fire Captain Tiffany Mercado.

The fire started Tuesday morning along the north end of the Napa County lake off Knoxville and Eastside roads.

No structures were damaged and no injuries were reported.

The Napa County fire is one of two in Northern California and one of 15 burning throughout the state. A 21-acre fire currently is burning in Shasta County.

The fire season is just weeks old and fire officials are concerned with the potential for new fires with this weekend’s predicted 95-degree temperatures.
