A 34-year-old Southern California man was hospitalized with major injuries after he crashed his motorcycle Saturday afternoon on Highway 128, just north of Yorkville in Mendocino County.

The California Highway Patrol said the rider, Sucik Ladislav Teshale of Imperial Beach, went off the road just before crashing. He was riding a 2014 KTM 1190 motorcycle, the CHP said.

The crash was first reported at 3:15 p.m., and no other vehicles were involved. The man was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment.

The CHP is investigating the crash. It does not appear drugs or alcohol were involved.
