A 33-year-old registered sex offender who recently moved to Sonoma County reportedly is returning to the Los Angeles area.

Dan Cilley, who was known in downtown Los Angeles for videotaping passing women and making distasteful comments to them, had been the subject of a public warning issued last week by Rohnert Park Police. Officials there warned that Cilley was considered “a high risk to re-offend” following his conviction in May for annoying or molesting a minor earlier this year in Los Angeles County.

Police reported that Cilley was staying with family at the McDouall Apartments on College View Drive in Rohnert Park. Officials released photos of him and noted that he was forbidden from being with a minor without a parent or guardian present.

However, on Wednesday Rohnert Park Police Cmdr. Aaron Johnson wrote in an email that Cilley “said he was going to move back to L.A.” Johnson added that local police are waiting for confirmation that Cilley registers anew with authorities in Southern California.
