Authorities are investigating a body found in the surf at Jenner Beach on Saturday afternoon, said Sonoma County Sheriff’s Lt. Darin Dougherty.

The body was pulled from the surf by first responders. The Sonoma County sheriff’s helicopter, Henry 1, was used to transport the body to sheriff’s deputies on Highway 1. From there, the body was taken to the county Coroner’s Office by vehicle.

The Sheriff’s Office said the incident is currently being investigated and it’s too early to tell if there was any foul play. Officials are trying to make a positive identification of the body and would not reveal any information as to whether the body was male or female, or an adult or child.
