A house fire in the hills west of Healdsburg drew a response from at least eight fire departments Sunday evening.

The fire, which was reported around 5 p.m. at 5208 Chemise Road, apparently started on a back deck of a house and spread to the home, according to initial reports.

The house was more than one mile up Chemise Road, which runs off West Dry Creek Road.

At least four water tenders were used to fight the fire, according to a RedCom emergency dispatcher, and firefighters were still mopping up the fire at 9 p.m.

Officials were not immediately available to provide information on a possible cause or the extent of the damage. There were no reports of injuries.
