Video: See when Sutter Hospital in Santa Rosa evacuated facility amid Sonoma County fire

On Monday, Oct. 9, Sutter Hospital in Santa Rosa quickly ushered patients and hospital workers from their Mark West Springs Road facility under a mandatory evacuation order as the Tubbs fire spread across north Santa Rosa. After one week of burning, the fire is now 70 percent contained at 36,390 acres.

In part of their efforts to combat the raging fire, firefighters have been drafting water from Sutter's private water main, a system that was put in place during the 2014 construction of the facility for use in disasters such as this. The six underground water tanks were designed with earthquakes in mind, but the 500,000 gallons of water has helped fight fires all over the county this past week.
