Sonoma County officials are reopening burned areas of Bennett Valley and Kenwood for limited visits by residents and property owners on Saturday and Sunday.

Two checkpoints have been established for entry, at the Bennett Valley Firehouse (Bennett Valley Road and Sonoma Mountain Road) and at Warm Springs Road and Mound Avenue in Kenwood.

The county has issued specific health, safety and security instructions on re-entry.

Returnees must provide a form of identification, including a driver’s license, state ID card, passport, utility bill, or consular ID. If you do not have an ID, the local assistance center can help you obtain one. The assistance center is located at the Press Democrat building at 427 Mendocino Avenue, in Santa Rosa. Your immigration status will not affect your ability to get identification.

On Monday, the neighborhoods will be reopened for general access.
