Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies shot and wounded a 47-year-old man late Tuesday, after he tried to run over someone with a truck.

Shawn Hart, of Santa Rosa, was hit twice in one arm as deputies tried to stop him in Stonegate Mobile Home Park in northwest Santa Rosa, said Sonoma County Sheriff’s Sgt. Spencer Crum.

Deputies were called at 10:30 p.m. to the 300 block of Bailhache Avenue in Healdsburg for an assault with a truck, according to the release, after a person called and said he’d been hit by the truck. The suspect then left in the vehicle, which wasn’t his, Crum said.

Deputies found Hart near the Vineyard Creek apartments on Airport Boulevard and when they tried to stop him, he drove into the nearby mobile home park.

Crum said deputies fired when Hart reached the end of the park, and he surrendered.

Hart was taken to a hospital. He was expected to be released Wednesday and arrested on felony assault with a deadly weapon, Crum said. He also was wanted on a $50,000 arrest warrant for violating a restraining order.

Detectives and sheriff’s officials Wednesday declined to release the involved deputies’ names, or details about the shooting, saying the investigation was continuing, Crum said.
