A puppy that went missing following a car crash near Penngrove early Tuesday has been found, according to a friend of the dog's owner.

Debra Bel of Cotati veered off Old Redwood Highway near Penngrove early Tuesday, becoming injured as she rolled her vehicle, according to authorities.

Her Honda CRV struck three poles along the highway and knocked down lines before landing on its roof in the 1 a.m. crash near Minnesota Avenue. Bel, 58, was taken by ambulance to a hospital with minor injuries, the CHP said.

A puppy in her car ran from the wreckage and wasn't found, but a friend of the owner said Wednesday night that the puppy was safe and back at home.
