A 24-year-old San Francisco woman who’d come to Sonoma County for the annual Emerald Cup marijuana competition was found dead Monday morning in her Windsor resort room, according to a Windsor police sergeant.

The death wasn’t considered suspicious, and the body was taken to the Sonoma County morgue for an autopsy to determine the cause of death, Sgt. James Percy said in a news release Monday afternoon.

Police and fire were called to the WorldMark Windsor Resort on Shiloh Road about 10:15 a.m. for an unresponsive woman and found her dead.

She’d been staying in the room with her boyfriend and at least four others who’d come to the area to attend the weekend cannabis event at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, Percy said.

Her name wasn’t released pending notification of family.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sonoma County Coroner’s Office at 707-565-5070.
