Two people went to hospitals Tuesday morning after their cars were in an east Petaluma T-bone crash, according to police.

The crash occurred in the intersection of McDowell Boulevard and Professional Drive at 7:06 a.m., Petaluma traffic Sgt. Jeremy Walsh said.

Two ambulances responded and one person was taken to nearby Petaluma Valley Hospital and the other to Memorial Hospital in Santa Rosa.

The crash temporarily blocked the intersection, causing minor traffic congestion until the vehicles could be towed, Walsh said.

Police traffic officers were investigating.
