Santa Rosa police arrested a man late Thursday suspected of robbing the convenience store earlier in the morning at the 76 Gas Station on the northeast corner of Piner Road and Coffey Lane.

Kwanza Houston, 42, of Santa Rosa, was arrested while trying to flee the Extended Stay Inn Hotel on Fountaingrove Parkway after detectives tracked him there based on leads. Police said the gunman came into the store shortly before 8:30 a.m. and brandished a handgun he pointed at store clerks, before demanding cash from their registers and fleeing.
