A San Francisco woman stopped for speeding Tuesday in west Sonoma County was jailed after sheriff’s deputies found nearly $4,000 in cash in the trunk of her car, along with a 16-pound cache of marijuana.

Even in the era of legalized adult use, that’s about 256 times the single ounce individuals are allowed to possess under state law.

Lauren Norstorm, 23, was arrested for suspected illegal possession of pot and possession for sale, as well as for driving with a suspended license, jail personnel said. She spent only a short stint in custody before she was given a notice to appear and released, jail personnel said.

Norstorm was ordered to be in court May 2, they said.
