Man with gun arrested at Hood Mountain park

A 31-year-old man was arrested Monday on suspicion of having a gun on a trail in Hood Mountain Regional Park, the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office said.

Hikers called 911 at about 5:25 p.m. to report seeing a shirtless man with dreadlocks, a large knife and a gun on the Goodspeed trail, Sheriff's Lt. Glenn Lawrence said.

They said the man was talking to himself and smashing rocks together, Lawrence said.

Two teams of deputies were dispatched along with a CHP helicopter.

They found Cory Solotky of Washington State about 100 yards up the trail and he surrendered without incident, Lawrence said. Solotky was arrested on suspicion of possession of a concealed firearm, of a high capacity magazine and of a firearm in a county park, he said.
