2 Santa Rosa men arrested after allegedly shooting at robber
Two Santa Rosa men were arrested Saturday after Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies responded to reports that a third man appeared to be breaking into their home, a sheriff’s official said.
Deputies responding to the home in the 4100 block of Stony Point Road about 1:15 p.m. were told by witnesses the man drove away in a black Cadillac and that a man from inside the house fired “multiple rounds” at the car, Lt. Orlando Rodriguez said in a news release.
The man was later seen picking up shell casings, and another resident was seen carrying what appeared to be a bag of marijuana back into the house, Rodriguez said.
The residents said a man tried to rob them while wielding a tire iron, he said. Deputies confirmed a resident had shot at the Cadillac and another had helped conceal shell casings and the handgun. A Glock 9 mm handgun, ammunition and the shell casings were recovered, Rodriguez said.
Phillip Carlton, 28, and Reed Cameron, 56, were arrested and booked into Sonoma County Jail on suspicion of negligent discharge of a firearm, conspiracy to commit a crime, and being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
