Santa Rosa police plan DUI checkpoint Friday

Santa Rosa police will hold a DUI and driver’s license checkpoint at an undisclosed location from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. Friday.

Officers will be stopping vehicles to check for valid driver’s licenses and signs of drunken or drugged driving, police said.

The effort to crack down on drivers under the influence of drugs or alcohol is funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.

Expenses from a DUI arrest can rack up to at least $15,000, according to police.
