Two suspected DUI drivers, two wanted men arrested at Santa Rosa checkpoint
Santa Rosa police arrested two suspected DUI drivers at a checkpoint Friday.
Officers also arrested a 51-year-old Kenwood man and a 36-year-old El Verano man found to be wanted on arrest warrants, the Santa Rosa Police Department said.
The checkpoint ran from 7:50 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Saturday in east Santa Rosa on Farmers Lane near Patio Court.
The two drivers suspected of driving drunk were a 37-year-old Santa Rosa woman and a 27-year-old San Francisco man. They were among 1,131 drivers who passed through the checkpoint.
Officers also cited 18 other drivers for license violations, including not having a driver’s license, police said.
Sonoma County law enforcement agencies periodically conduct checkpoints, citing statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that they serve as a deterrent to DUI driving.
