Three Sonoma residents, 18, injured in crash
Three 18-year-old Sonoma residents were in a pickup crash Sunday in the Sonoma Valley, leaving one with major injuries, according to the CHP.
Driver Kole Morgan was headed east on Leveroni Road in a 2002 GMC Sierra truck when he lost control on the wet pavement while navigating a left curve near Arnold Drive. The truck ran off the rural road and the passenger’s side crashed into a large tree, the CHP said.
Passenger Anthony Costanzo suffered major injuries and Morgan had minor injuries in the 3:25 p.m. crash. Both were taken to Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa, where they remained hospitalized Monday morning. Costanzo was in fair condition and Morgan in good condition, according to a hospital spokeswoman.
A second passenger wasn’t injured, the CHP said. All three teens wore seat belts.
It was the second serious crash on that stretch of Leveroni Road in weeks. On Nov. 30, a 23-year-old Sonoma man had major injuries after he lost control of his SUV and hit a pole at the Leveroni Road and Arnold Drive intersection.
