Planning a Memorial Day trip up Yosemite's Half Dome? You can put your hiking shoes away, for now.

Lingering snow is delaying the installation of the metal cables that allow hikers to scale the last 400 feet to the top of the popular landmark.

The cables are set to go up by June 2, instead of May 26.

"If you have a Half Dome hiking permit for the dates between May 26 and when the cables are installed your permit fee will be refunded," according to a statement on the park's Facebook page.
