Deputy rescues bear trapped inside car near Lake Tahoe

CARNELIAN BAY - A bear that managed to break into a car needed help from a sheriff's deputy to get out.

The Placer County Sheriff's Office in California says it happened near Lake Tahoe. The bruin had damaged the Subaru Outback so badly that the doors would not unlock.

Video shows a deputy was brave enough to break a window so the bear could jump out and run back to the forest.

A Placer County Sheriff’s deputy had to rescue a bear that trapped itself inside a car recently near Lake Tahoe. The bear got into a Subaru Outback in Carnelian Bay and destroyed the interior so badly that the doors couldn’t be unlocked. It was decided the safest way to get the bear out of the car was to break the window. Deputy Lade was brave enough to break the window, allowing the bear to jump out and flee into the forest.
