It's a big weekend for racing at Sonoma Raceway, with Verizon IndyCar Series drivers participating in a series-sanctioned open test on Thursday, and the season finale racing event GoPro Grand Prix happening Friday through Sunday.
Tens of thousands of fans are expected to descend on Sonoma Raceway for a jam-packed weekend of events including an air show and pace car rides in addition to the three full days of racing.
Whether you're attending the races or just traveling through the area, here are some tips to make your experience more enjoyable.
Traffic: Highways 37 and 121 will be mostly impacted on Sunday morning (8 a.m.-3 p.m.) and post race from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Gates open at 8 a.m. each day.
Parking: Free parking is available for all race attendees. Fans can enter through Gate 1 and Gate 7 off of Highway 121 on Saturday and Sunday. Those arriving via taxi or Uber should enter through Gate 1.
Shuttles: Once inside, shuttles run around the entire facility throughout the day. To view the shuttle map, click here.

What you can bring: A backpack, a seat cushion (no legs allowed), water, snacks and a small cooler. No alcohol, bottles, glass containers, lawn chairs or umbrellas are allowed in seating areas.
